Tactile Map

Tactile maps can be an amazing tool for people who are blind or visually impaired to learn about their surroundings, from finding the bathroom to knowing the escape routes in an emergency. There are already wonderful programs and websites that use street and elevation data to create tactile maps of streets and cities. To add to these resources, I created a program that lets you trace a floor plan to make a 3D-printable map of a building or a small area, such as a school. My main goal was to give providers another tool for sharing important information, like evacuation routes, and for helping students build independence.

Tactile Map Generator

First things you will need is your school's map.  The best way to do this, is to get a digital picture but you can scan a picture of the map and upload it.
